Faculty members of Sulu State University participated in the Capacity-Building Training on Indigenous Product Innovation, Intellectual Property Protection, Technology Transfer, and Scientific Communication organized by the Mindanao Sulu Palawan–Innovative Research and Development Consortium (MinSuPala-IRDC) on August 14–19, 2026, hosted by Mindanao State University–Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO).
The training brought together faculty members, researchers, innovators, extension personnel, and focal persons from participating State Universities and Colleges and partner institutions.
Representing Sulu State University were faculty members from the School of Agriculture: Nadzfar S. Sawabi, RAgr; Jessamaye K. Muharrani, RAgr; and Abdulladin A. Kamlon, RFP.
The capacity-building program featured sessions and workshops on technology transfer, intellectual property protection, indigenous crop and fish processing innovation, value-added product development, scientific presentation, and public speaking. These activities aimed to strengthen participants’ research, innovation, and communication competencies while encouraging the development and protection of locally generated technologies and products.
