Sulu State University (SuluSU) gathered its faculty members and non-teaching personnel for the “Threads of Hikmat: A New Semester, A Shared Halal Mission” Joint Faculty and Non-Teaching Personnel Assembly on September 7, 2026, at the SuluSU Gymnasium, reaffirming unity, shared purpose, and collective commitment as the University enters a new semester.

The assembly commenced with the Invocation, National Anthem, and SuluSU Hymn, followed by the Welcome Remarks and Presentation of the Theme delivered by University President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE. In her presentation, the President reflected on the significance of Threads of Hikmat, emphasizing how faculty and non-teaching personnel, despite their distinct roles, are woven together into one institutional fabric of wisdom, service, and shared responsibility.

The State of the University Update featured key university officials, namely Dr. Alijandrina T. Jalilul, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ayesha Rema A. Tan, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production & Innovation; Dr. Nelson U. Julhamid, Vice President for Administration & Finance Management; and Asst. Prof. Krysha C. Samparani, University Secretary. The presentation highlighted significant developments, accomplishments, and priorities as SuluSU moves forward into the new academic semester.

The assembly also featured the Halal University Values Moment, led by Mr. Armstrong Jainatul, Chief Security; Ms. Sherryl Kathleen S. Muddasil, Human Resource Management Office; and Asst. Prof. Firash Zhed S. Ututalum, Director for Student Affairs and Services, emphasizing the importance of values, integrity, responsibility, and a shared culture of service within the University community.

The gathering provided an avenue for members of the SuluSU community to engage in dialogue and exchange perspectives as the University continues to strengthen institutional collaboration and foster a responsive and inclusive academic environment.

The program was facilitated by Mr. Alkhamar Saddalani, LPT, Master of Ceremony, who guided the assembly through its various segments.

As SuluSU begins another semester, “Threads of Hikmat” serves as a reminder that every member of the University community is an essential thread in the institution’s continuing journey—woven together by wisdom, united by purpose, and committed to a shared mission of service and excellence.
