Sulu State University strengthens its commitment to research, innovation, and excellence in English Language Studies on September 23–24, 2026, at Isabela State University–Echague Campus, Isabela Province, Cagayan Valley Region.

Carrying the theme, “Elevating English Language Studies: Harnessing Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Research for Global Excellence,” the two-day international academic gathering brings together educators, researchers, language practitioners, and scholars in an avenue for intellectual exchange, professional collaboration, and the sharing of innovative and research-based practices in English Language Studies.

Representing Sulu State University are Asst. Prof. Imelda A. Paraja, Ph.D., Assoc. Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Asst. Prof. Alnakier A. Sarabi, Ph.D., Chairperson of the Master of Arts in Language Teaching – English (MALTE).

Their participation underscores SSU's continuing commitment to advancing research informed instruction, embracing innovation and digital transformation, and strengthening professional engagement in the field of language education.

The RISE-ELS 2026 provides a significant platform for the SSU delegates to connect with fellow educators and scholars, exchange perspectives on emerging trends in English Language Studies, and explore innovative approaches that can contribute to the continuous enhancement of language teaching, research, and graduate education.

More than an academic gathering, the conference represents an opportunity to bring the scholarly work and academic presence of Sulu State University into a wider community of educators and researchers. It also opens possibilities for future collaborations, research partnerships, and professional networks that may further enrich the University's academic programs.

The participation of the SSU delegates is made possible through the support and encouragement of University President Prof. Charisma Samparani Ututalum, CESE whose leadership continues to create opportunities for faculty members and academic leaders to engage in meaningful scholarly activities.
Her commitment to advancing research, innovation, professional development, and academic excellence reflects a leadership that recognizes the importance of opening doors for the University's educators to learn, collaborate, and contribute to broader academic conversations.

Through her support, SSU faculty members are given opportunities to represent the University in significant academic forums and to bring home new knowledge, perspectives, and possibilities for institutional growth. Such initiatives affirm the University's continuing journey toward a stronger culture of research and innovation.

As Sulu State University joins educators and scholars at RISE-ELS 2026, the University's participation carries with it not only the names of its delegates but also the institution's aspiration to contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of English Language Studies.

With research as a foundation, innovation as a driving force, and collaboration as a bridge toward global engagement, Sulu State University continues to move forward in its pursuit of academic excellence, one scholarly opportunity at a time.
