The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) successfully convened higher education leaders and innovators at the CHED Responding through AI for Societal Empowerment (RAISE) 2026, held February 25 at the Iloilo Convention Center.
Representing Sulu State College, College President Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE together with Ms. Krysha Samparani, reaffirming the institution’s strong commitment to innovation and academic transformation in the age of artificial intelligence.
With the theme “RAISE: Raising AI Education, Empowering Society,” the event gathered educators, policymakers, industry leaders, and technology advocates to explore how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping higher education and empowering communities for the future.
The Presidents’ Forum, in particular, provided a strategic platform for institutional heads to exchange insights and contribute to the development of forward-looking AI policies in the Philippine higher education sector.
The forum was graced by the presence of CHED Secretary Shirley C. Agrupis, Ph.D., whose leadership continues to advance the national agenda toward future-ready, technology-driven learning environments.
Through their participation in both the RAISE 2026 sessions and the Presidents’ Forum, Sulu State College officials strengthened institutional linkages and gained valuable perspectives that will further enhance the College’s initiatives in AI-responsive education for the benefit of its students and stakeholders.
Wide dissemination of the outcomes of CHED RAISE 2026 is expected to inspire higher education institutions nationwide to embrace innovation in building empowered and future-ready communities.
