Sulu State University (SuluSU), through its Data Privacy Office, conducted the Strengthening Data Privacy Compliance: Annual Awareness Seminar on July 30, 2026, at the Center for Culture and Arts, reaffirming the University's commitment to safeguarding personal information and promoting a culture of data privacy among its stakeholders.
The seminar proper was facilitated by Asst. Prof. Safrazhad Akarab, Data Privacy Officer, together with Mr. Nadzrin Abdulajid, Planning Officer III. The discussions focused on strengthening awareness of data privacy principles, institutional compliance, and the responsibilities of university personnel under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). The activity concluded with a closing message from Asst. Prof. Safrazhad Akarab, encouraging all participants to uphold data privacy standards and integrate responsible data handling practices into their daily work.
