Sulu State University ushered in a new chapter in its history through HIKMAT: The Investiture Ceremony, formally investing Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE as the First President of Sulu State University.

The historic ceremony gathered members of the Board of Regents, university officials, faculty members, staff, students, honored guests, and distinguished leaders from the national, regional, and local government sectors in celebration of this significant milestone in the institution's journey.

The investiture rites commenced with a solemn academic procession, followed by interfaith invocations and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The ceremony featured the reading of the Board of Regents Resolution and the presentation of Prof. Ututalum's appointment by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Ph.D.

A highlight of the ceremony was the formal investiture rites, including the donning of the presidential toga and medallion, the handing over of the Academic Mace, and the administration of the Oath of Office. These symbolic traditions affirmed Prof. Ututalum's authority, responsibility, and commitment to lead the University toward greater heights of academic excellence, innovation, and public service.

Acidre of the Tingog Party-List, and Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of plaques of recognition and tokens of appreciation to the Board of Regents and honored guests, followed by the singing of the Sulu State University Hymn. A ceremonial toast, fellowship luncheon, photo opportunities, and a musical soirée capped the celebration.

As Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum officially concluded her term as President of Sulu State College and began her tenure as the First President of Sulu State University, the occasion stood as a testament to the University's progress and aspirations for the future.
